Customers lined up at the ice cream counter to cool off during the hot day.
Cream puffs, smoothies and gourmet ice cream were passed around as free samples during Avalon Sweet Spot’s grand opening on Sept. 25. A face painter and an ice cream eating contest drew in a crowd that packed the dessert parlor on the corner of Tanja King and Avalon Park boulevards.
