Avalon Middle School linebacker Ryan Hutchison and Bennett Hopkins, a Discovery Middle School Center, were selected as Junior Rank Football Academic All Americans, The two played in the Junior Rank All American Bowl Game in Phoenix, Ariz., in late December, which pits the East Squad (35 eighth-grade boys from east of the Mississippi) against the West Squad (35 eighth-grade boys from west of the Mississippi). The East Squad trumped the West Squad in a 41-14 victory.
UCF Men's Baseball Team defeated No. 29 Alabama in the final day of the 26th-annual South Alabama classic with a score of 12-4.
The UCF Men's Golf Team finished fourth in the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club. No. 29 UCF finished ahead of four top-50 ranked squads, including 2nd-ranked Florida.
