East Orlando residents and UCF Alumni Gary Lau and Shally Wong were honored with 2010 Ellison S Onikuza Humanitarian Awards at the at the Golden Dragon Awards hosted by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida. The couple started Asia Trend Magazine, a lifestyle, culture, and entertainment magazine that highlights achievements and news in the local Asian American community.

Drew Kesse and his family have created a UCF scholarship to honor their daughter, Jennifer Kesse. Kesse, a UCF alum, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She went missing five years ago last month.
