December’s Rotary Business of the Month is Margarita’s Grill in Avalon Park. The restaurant hosted its second annual Avalon Park Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, free to the community. More than 150 runners showed, and Margarita’s raffled off five turkeys to race participants. Margarita’s opened in Avalon Park eight years ago, and each year it donates funds and food to the local schools and churches. It also donates free meals to Timber Creek sports programs. Owner Eduardo Hinojosa said he’s planning a Clean Up Avalon Park event, where he’ll provide free meals to volunteers who donate their time to clean up the community. The date hasn’t been finalized, but he’s planning for the first Saturday in January. Margarita’s is located at 3885 E. Avalon Park Blvd., Orlando.
