The undefeated run by the Timber Creek girls flag football team came to an end over the weekend as they were blanked by Dr. Phillips, 19-0, in the playin game for the state finals tournament.
The Wolves finished out the season as Metro Conference and district champs with a 13-1 record, which was achieved by shutting out eight teams and outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 244-62.
The 19 points surrendered to Dr. Phillips were the most Timber Creek allowed all season. It was also only the third time a team had put up double figures against them this year.
Leading the team were seniors Cheyenne Jennings with 29 touchdowns through the air and four more on the ground, and Tiara Jackson with 16 interceptions on defense and 13 touchdowns in all. Seniors Caitlon DeGel (eight touchdowns, eight interceptions), Brittany Harris (four interceptions, one touchdown) and Brittany Honor (three interceptions) were also major contributors.
